The Position: UCN requires an individual to teach the Culinary Arts Program in Flin Flon, MB. In addition to teaching duties, the instructor will be responsible for classroom management, student supervision and advising, maintenance of student records and grades, curriculum review/development and other administrative tasks.
Three-week preparation from October 15, 2018 to November 2, 2018
Course delivery dates are November 5, 2018 to August 9, 2019
1-week wrap-up from August 12, 2019 to August 16, 2019
Red Seal Journeyperson Certificate is required with significant experience after attainment of Red Seal
Must demonstrate strong cooking skills and passion for culinary arts and the restaurant business
Effective communication skills
Experience in applying culturally relevant educational practices
Ability to integrate essential skills upgrading into Cook/Culinary Arts training
Strong interpersonal and self-management skills
Effective organizational skills
Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
Excellent workplace safety practices
Strong leadership and teamwork skills
Effective problem solving skills and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to understand and deal with mature learners in a multi-cultural setting
Demonstrated ability to understand and to deal with issues specific to mature students
Personal experience and/or knowledge and understanding of multiple cultures
Culinary Arts graduate
Experience in delivering adult education
Experience in delivery of Cook/Culinary Arts technical training
Conditions of Employment:
Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Instructors are required to complete a Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
