Our client is seeking a Director of eHealth to lead a team of qualified health and eHealth professionals who provide the necessary support and guidance to Manitoba First Nations and the health care system who provide services to First Nations.
Under the direction of the Executive Director, you will be responsible for carrying out the duties of promoting awareness and preparedness among the Manitoba First Nations of present and future developments in eHealth, and Information Management and other Information Communication Technology (ICT) fields, and potential for improvements and investments of health care of Manitoba First Nations through these areas. Also, you will implement the “Manitoba First Nations Health & Wellness Strategy, under section C: Build the Infrastructure to Improve Health Status”.
As well, you will implement the eHealth Long Term Strategy (eHLTS) – a ten year plan endorsed by the Executive Council of Chiefs Resolution ECC Mar-12.01, based on the continuing needs and feedback regarding eHealth from Manitoba First Nations. The Director of eHealth provides management and direction to the team, fulfilling the overall goals of the eHLTS. The Director of eHealth will plan and direct the Health Information Management Services areas ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, develop and implement organization policies and procedures as it relates to eHealth, monitor, assess and ensure effective use of department resources and record management system processes.
Post-secondary education in health, preferably with a Nursing related discipline or a combination of training and experience
Combination of financial, human resources, and program and project management expertise
Demonstrated ability to prioritize independently and handle multiple requests and reporting requirements to meet the organizational goals
Advanced eHealth knowledge and hands-on experience
Computer literacy combined with excellent research and analytical strengths
Expertise in the design, development, negotiation, and management of multi-lateral and multi-jurisdictional initiatives/programs/issues
Fluency in a Manitoba First Nation’s language is an asset
Ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team of health and IT professionals
Experience and proven ability to build partnerships and work collectively with First Nation organizations, and federal and provincial representatives on projects
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiating skills
Valid Manitoba Driver’s Licence and ability to travel
Knowledge of First Nations culture, language, history, governance , and issues
