Northern First Nations Clinical Care Transformation

Winnipeg Sub-Office – Full Time to March 31, 2021

The Clinical Care Transformation team invites you to apply for a unique and ground breaking opportunity to advance the health care of First Nation peoples in northern Manitoba. The successful candidate will employ their skills in communications as part of an innovative team tasked with addressing widely known and community identified gaps in health and wellness services.

Transformation of health care systems to meet the health and healing needs of First Nation communities will set the standard of care in the domains of equity and equality. As well, this work will focus on upstream preventative measures to support the health and well-being of our First Nations citizens with a focus on women, children and families.

The role requires a degree or diploma in communications or public relations and at least 3 years of experience in a communications role, preferably within an Indigenous organization (a combination of relevant experience and education will be considered). The successful candidate will possess strong communications skills with an ability to synthesize and summarize, verbally and in writing. Through various communications platforms, the successful candidate will know how to represent the issues, as well as the beauty and the strengths of northern and remote / isolated First Nations communities. The ideal candidate will have experience utilizing social media to deliver messaging with some experience in lay-out / design.

The Clinical Care Transformation team invites you to apply for a unique and ground-breaking opportunity to advance the health care of First Nation peoples in northern Manitoba. The successful candidate will employ a broad set of skills in nursing, management and health administration as part of an innovative team tasked with addressing widely known and community identified gaps in health and wellness services.

Transformation of health care systems to meet the health and healing needs of First Nation communities will set the standard of care in the domains of equity and equality. As well, this work will focus on upstream preventative measures to support the health and well-being of First Nations citizens with a focus on women, children and families.

You have at least five years of experience as a nurse or nurse manager with advanced knowledge of systems and administration, preferably with an understanding of evidence informed practice from a First Nations perspective. You are a strong communicator, verbally and in writing. You have insight into the issues faced by northern and remote / isolated First Nations communities in Manitoba. You embrace First Nations values, customs, strengths and ethics in the context of health and healing in communities.
