The Position: The Faculty of Arts, Business and Science requires a University Instructor to develop and deliver science courses in support of the Kenanow Bachelor of Education students, and Pre-Nursing Intent students. The Science Instructor will work with current faculty on course delivery in a pedagogically sound manner.
Masters in Biological Science, Environmental Science, Ecology or Microbiology
Experience in lab demonstration and lab maintenance
Experience with tutoring or teaching first-year university courses
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Experience in using distance and current learning technologies and current computer applications
Demonstrated ability to understand cultural influences and issues specific to Indigenous learners and mature students in northern communities
Personal experience and/or knowledge and understanding Indigenous cultures
Ph.D. in Biological Science, Environmental Science, Ecology, Microbiology or Zoology
A permanent Manitoba teaching certificate (or equivalent from another jurisdiction)
Familiarity with teacher education and pre-professional nursing education programs
Experience in Indigenous education settings
Research experience in a university or government agency
Conditions of Employment:
Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Travel to various Northern communities
