Position Summary

Excellent new opportunity to join the Interior Health team!The Workforce Innovation Consultant (WIC) provides expertise, direction, education, and support to facilitate the achievement of the mission, goals, and objectives of Interior Health (IH). The WIC builds strong liaisons with Directors and Managers across IH, identifies staffing challenges, and develops strategies to address those challenges. In addition, the WIC provides insight and recommendations to various levels of management on issues that relate to both their strategic direction and day-to-day operations. The WIC also provides training and education for Staffing Services-related subject matter to all levels of the organization.


• Proactively develops strong liaisons with Directors, Managers, and Leadership Teams to establish a level of influence and trust in their decision-making processes with regards to staff utilization and staffing challenges within their portfolios.

• Responsible for complex ad hoc report requests generated from multiple data sets, analyzing subsequent information, and making recommendations based on findings.

• Provides content expertise when building new systems and reports; requires an understanding of the customers’ needs and an ability to influence and communicate with associated parties to ensure the final product is viable for all parties involved, as well as for IH as a whole.

• Acts as the resource for department expertise on a variety of teams relating to, but not limited to, Staffing Services working groups, contract implementation groups, Acute Services staffing assessment groups, etc.

• Provides direction to Managers in the Vacation Planning Process by advising on best practices, working through complex issues, and ensuring compliancy with IH policies and Collective Agreements.

• Generates metrics (based on information from Detail and Summary Reports) on units/ departments where numbers are a concern, providing information to understand where the issues are and how to potentially resolve them.

• Projects demand for relief staffing and works with Managers to determine the optimal mix of casual and permanent relief positions for a specific area/unit.

• Develops and delivers training and educational material to support all levels of the organization with Staffing Services related functions.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education, Training, and Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree in business, analytical, or healthcare-related studies.
• A minimum of three years of experience in a role related to the duties of the position.
• Or a combination of education and experience equivalent to the above.Additional experience that would be an asset:
• Staffing experience or experience working in ESP
• Human Resources experience
• Consulting/advisory experience in related field (ie business, finance, accounting)
• Project Management experience/training
