Operations Report outlines upcoming priorities
WINNIPEG – Manitoba Auditor General Norm Ricard today released his report, Operations of the Office, which summarizes the office’s activities in 2017-18 and outlines upcoming projects and priorities.
Highlights of the last year include:
• 3 project audits released, with 52 recommendations.
• 224 past project audit recommendations followed up on.
• 13 project audits started or continued.
• 27 financial statement audit opinions issued.
The report also notes the office adopted a new vision statement: Valued for positively influencing public sector performance through impactful audit work and reports. “Our vision statement captures our collective dedication to ensuring our audits add value to the Legislative Assembly’s efforts at ensuring resources are properly accounted for, and that public monies are spent with due regard to value-for-money,” Ricard said.
The Auditor General had a budget of $7.2 million in 2017/18, and annual expenditures were $6.8 million.
