Highway crashes in Manitoba leave two dead – Brandon Sun

Two people died in two separate collisions on the weekend.

On Saturday just after 2 p.m., Virden RCMP responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 83.

The vehicle had hit the ditch and rolled several times. The 42-year-old driver from Canupawakpa Dakota First Nation was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He died on the scene.

The 31-year-old passenger, also from Canupawakpa Dakota First Nation, was wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured.

Alcohol and speed are both suspected to be factors in the crash.
