Cancer research to be brought under joint institute – Winnipeg Free Press

The University of Manitoba and CancerCare Manitoba are bringing together all cancer research in the province under one umbrella organization to lure the best and the brightest, and improve patient outcomes.

They believe the new Research Institute of Oncology and Hematology (RIOH) will foster innovation, collaboration and translate cutting-edge innovation around the world into improvements in cancer treatment here at home.

The announcement was made this morning at CancerCare Manitoba, with several scientists, physicians, fund-raisers and others in attendance.
