Please be advised that Cochrane Saxberg will not be open on Friday, September 30, in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a national statutory holiday, and is also known as Orange Shirt Day.

Orange Shirt Day was created and designed to educate and promote awareness in Canada about the issues with the residential school system, as well as its on-going impact on Indigenous communities. It is a day to honor the victims and celebrate the survivors.

While the observance of this day was created in 2013, it was not officially recognized as a national holiday until 2021.

CS encourages everyone to educate themselves on the importance of this national holiday.
