A group of film students from Long Plain First Nation huddle around a boardroom table, ready to listen to a freshly mixed song, mastered the night before.
“Without further ado, here it is,” says Jordan Molaro, president of video production company Nu-Media, pressing play on his laptop.
The students jot down notes and ideas for the music video they’re planning, but this moment is more than a brainstorming session — it’s the start of a process designed to help these indigenous students find an outlet for their own stories, told in their own voices.
