Daytime Indigenous national news coverage is now available – MBC Radio
May 9, 2024
APTN has been providing Indigenous stories by Indigenous Peoples for more than two decades.
The new broadcast will be like their previous primetime news but will have some new items featured.
“We will provide the daily news and everything going on across the country but also will be presenting arts, entertainment, up and coming Indigenous, Metis, and Inuit personalities from across the country,” said Charmaine Straker, Executive Show Producer
The daytime broadcast can be viewed at 12 p.m., Monday to Friday on their APTN television or on their YouTube channel.
“We have been wanting to bring this back for a very long time and it’s been a shift from other media outlets out there where they have been decreasing shows across the country. So, it has been a very exciting time for us to be bringing this back and having daytime news for our Indigenous, Metis, and Inuit listeners that are across the country,” explained Straker.
