Winnipeg, MB, September 30, 2019 – The newly expanded and renovated Northern store in Sandy Lake, Ontario will kick off its grand re-opening on Monday, September 30th, inviting customers to celebrate its larger footprint, exciting new food services and dozens of new jobs for the community.
The grand re-opening ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a ribbon cutting, and customers will be treated to refreshments and promotions throughout the day.

“We are grateful for the fantastic relationship we maintain with the community of Sandy Lake and especially thankful for the long standing support and partnership we have with the Sandy Lake First Nation. Chief Kakegamic and her Council are terrific to work with and I thank them for their support. We’re proud to be able to increase our workforce here at Northern Sandy Lake with our larger, renovated store. We’ve added approximately 30 new positions, bringing our employee count up to 68,” said Michael Beaulieu, Vice President, Sales & Operations, The North West Company.
Northern Sandy Lake is also the very first Northern store to feature the Tim Hortons Breakfast program. Customers will have their choice of breakfast sandwiches, wraps, oatmeal and hashbrowns, all of which will meet Tim Hortons’ strict quality standards.
The team at Northern Sandy Lake is excited to welcome the community on opening day and continue to invest in the local economy.
