National Day of Awareness for MMIWG and 2SLGBTQQIA+: Join MKO’s Community Awareness Walk in Thompson on May 5, 2022
Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak’s (MKO) Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) Liaison Unit invites you to attend our community awareness walk in Thompson on Thursday, May 5, 2022.
Walk with us to raise awareness around the ongoing issue of MMIWG. Together, let’s continue to support the families and communities who have lost a loved one due to gender-based violence and let’s remember those who are still missing.
We will begin at 11 am at our MKO Office, located at 55 Selkirk Avenue in Thompson. Our march will finish at the Royal Canadian Legion at 59 Elizabeth Road.
The event will include opening welcoming remarks from the MMIWG team and invited guests along with self care and awareness activities. We will also provide a light lunch and refreshments.
