NationTalk Celebrates 15 years of Service to our Partners, Clients and Subscribers as Canada’s Premier Source for Indigenous Media Releases, Employment, Event and Tender Services.

NationTalk, what many consider an essential service has delivered an outstanding 200,000+ Indigenous-specific media release, employment, event and tender opportunities and has provided over $1 million in free communication services to numerous Indigenous charitable, non-profit, and small business owners from coast to coast to coast throughout its 15 year history.

Toronto – March 2, 2020 – Launched in March of 2005, Indigenous entrepreneur, Don Barraclough and family has grown NationTalk from a small, grassroots newswire and listing service to a serious distribution hub for Indigenous news and opportunities.

NationTalk started after its owner noticed a need for another positive Indigenous media source, which has been used as a unifying element keeping our Peoples and the public at large connected, engaged and informed.

“There were just too many negative stories circulating about our Peoples in the press”, said Don Barraclough, President and CEO, “Then, In the beginning of 2005, I was charged $5,000 for a half-page ad that didn’t get one response. I thought there has to be a better way to get information out about my proudly Indigenous owned telecom company and opportunities in general to the people that want to see them.”

Then came the NationTalk listing, for less than the cost of a classified ad in a newspaper and still $193 today, almost anyone could afford to communicate their product, service or Indigenous opportunities. The number of employment opportunities has measured in the 10’s of thousands and it’s the same with events, news and public tenders all shared coast to coast to coast.

NationTalk thanks all its Partners, clients and subscribers over the past 15 years, in particular organizations like TD Bank, TE Wealth, First Nations Health Managers Association and the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business which, who through their constant support have created endless opportunity and success for much of our mainly Indigenous readers. We look forward to what the future has in store for us.
