Nelson Little preparing to make things happen and inspire youth in Indigenous communities – PortageOnline

Manitoba Country Music award winning artist Nelson Little is gearing up for an exciting year as he leaves on a tour that will see him perform across Manitoba, including remote Indigenous communities. The tour, which kicks off today, will take him to 18 communities, from the isolated Northern reaches of Manitoba to its Southern areas. Little, known for his music and mentorship, will share his life story, perform his songs, and lead workshops to inspire young Indigenous youth.

“This tour is extremely important to me. It’s about reaching out to youth, especially in isolated communities, and giving them hope and inspiration. Some of these kids are already great musicians, and I want to show them that they can use their hardships to push forward and achieve their dreams.”

The tour is part of an initiative led by Rhonda Head, who has been organizing Indigenous tours for five years. This year, the initiative is expanding to reach communities all across Manitoba.
