Regina, Saskatchewan – One Tribe Global LTD (‘One Tribe’) and Carbon RX Inc. (‘Carbon RX’) are thrilled to announce a carbon offtake agreement for the Boreal Guardians Project Phase 1, a transformative Improved Forest Management (IFM) initiative in partnership with the Misipawistik Cree Nation (‘MCN’) in Manitoba, Canada. This agreement marks a significant step in sustainable forest management, Indigenous-led conservation, and the global fight against climate change through the voluntary carbon market.

The Boreal Guardians IFM-1 Project protects the traditional lands of the Misipawistik Cree Nation in the heart of the Canadian Boreal Forest. The project is projected to deliver over 2,000,000 carbon credits over its lifetime and will be registered under the Verra Carbon Standard. These credits result from enhanced forest ecology practices focusing on improved forest health and protection, specifically through conservation efforts supported by the traditional First Nation values of MCN.

“We’re proud to partner with One Tribe and Misipawistik Cree Nation,” said Neil Dobson, Vice President of CarbonRX. “This agreement taps into the immense potential of Indigenous-led carbon projects. With few such initiatives in Canada, we expect robust demand for these credits, supporting both climate goals and community empowerment and we believe One Tribe can help us better access global markets.”

The project will protect thousands of hectares of First Nations Traditional lands in the Canadian Boreal Forest and will be first voluntary carbon project of its kind in the region.

“As a European organization focused on indigenous carbon we have seen many different carbon project initiatives,” highlights David Elliot, CEO of One Tribe. “It’s rare to find a forest project in the global north and it’s even more rare to find one in a jurisdiction that has so many shared values in terms of social and economic impact. We love the idea of doing business in Canada whereby the geopolitical risks are negligible.”

One Tribe, a leader in corporate sustainability, will purchase credits from the project to enable its marketplace partners to offset their emissions. This offtake agreement underscores One Tribe’s dedication to high-integrity carbon credits and Indigenous partnerships, aligning with global demand for transparent, impactful offsets.

The project is scheduled to deliver its first credits in Q1 of 2028. Pricing terms and conditions were not disclosed.
