Update – Portage RCMP seeking information in sudden death investigation
Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, June 11, 2015 – Rocelyn Gabriel, 20, of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba was found suffering from hypothermia, to which she later succumbed at hospital on January 26, 2014. Investigators have been able to build a timeline of Rocelyn’s whereabouts. However, there are still some questions regarding her movements from 4:00-4:40 am on January 26, 2014.
RCMP encourage the public to contact us with any information, even if it is believed we are already aware.

RM of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, January 27, 2014 – On January 26, 2014, shortly after 8:00 am, Portage la Prairie RCMP and local EMS responded to a report of a female located in a snowbank at the Portage la Prairie Recycling Depot.
The female was located, CPR initiated and she was transported to Portage General Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The deceased is a 20-year-old woman of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Her name will not be released.
Foul play is not suspected. Frigid weather conditions are considered a factor in this matter.
A post mortem is scheduled in Winnipeg to confirm cause of death.
