First supervised drug consumption site planned for Winnipeg’s downtown – Western Standard

Manitoba has selected a location for the province’s first supervised drug consumption site at 200 Disraeli Freeway in Winnipeg’s downtown, with an application currently under review by Health Canada.
The provincial government will invest $727,000 to develop the site in partnership with the Aboriginal Health and Wellness Centre of Winnipeg.
Health Minister Uzoma Asagwara said the location was chosen because it addresses areas with significant challenges related to homelessness and addiction.
